Job Description

Role Overview:

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and control of the building management system (BMS) and ensuring the efficient operation of the headquarters building services. This role involves providing administrative support to the Engineering Team, interacting with departments like Housekeeping and Front Office, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to high-quality service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Organizing:

  1. Stay informed of daily activities and maintain product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
  2. Ensure punctuality of yourself and your team.
  3. Assist in planning for investment, project, and replacement budgets annually in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Management.

Operations:

  1. Promote teamwork and a collaborative work environment.
  2. Recommend improvements in methods, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and maximize guest satisfaction.
  3. Train and mentor staff, sharing knowledge and skills for their development.
  4. Adhere to company standards, values, and competencies.
  5. Attend training as per the schedule and ensure continuous professional development.
  6. Complete all relevant checklists in a timely manner.
  7. Ensure compliance with Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety policies.
  8. Coordinate active maintenance with the engineering team and communicate with the Engineering Supervisor to ensure completion.
  9. Acknowledge and process all work orders in the online reporting system.
  10. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Administration:

  1. Provide support to the Engineering Supervisor in executing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  2. Analyze the behavior of plants with respect to set points and adjust control parameters accordingly.
  3. Perform daily audits of plant performance via the BMS, including data logging, plant review, and alarm status.
  4. Diagnose plant failures, analyze causes, and propose specific corrective actions for approval.
  5. Review historical data to recommend system improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving guest service.
  6. Program BMS, PPM systems, and other plants (e.g., standby power generators, firefighting pumps, fire alarm systems) for automatic periodic testing.
  7. Maintain a professional appearance and cheerful demeanor in accordance with grooming standards.
  8. Adhere to hotel rules and regulations as outlined in the staff handbook.
  9. Anticipate guest needs to enhance the quality of service and guest satisfaction.
  10. Ensure accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
  11. Provide ongoing administrative support to the Engineering Team.
  12. Assist with HR-related tasks, including the completion of vacation plans and associated paperwork.
  13. Cooperate and assist colleagues in a prompt, caring, and helpful manner. Be flexible in assisting other areas of the hotel based on business and guest needs.
  14. Stay familiar with all relevant company documentation, particularly the Operational Standards for your field of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building management systems (BMS)
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes, systems, and maintenance protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think critically and solve technical problems efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and proactive in meeting the demands of the role.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Engineering or a related field.
