Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated professional as an Assistant Financial Controller, on a fixed term 8 month Parental Leave contract.  Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, in this role you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Finance department, directly overseeing and assisting with accounts payable, receivables and payroll operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Supervising the Finance team and support in duties of payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cashiering.
  • Developing and monitoring all financial systems for the Resort with a view to improve and streamline procedures.
  • Working with Department Managers to develop effective measures to enhance each department’s profitability.
  • Ensuring internal controls, credit limits and other compliance are maintained.
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly accounts.
  • Assist with completing monthly financial statements under tight deadlines.
  • Monitoring payroll requirements are maintained.
  • Providing financial advice and support for the Management team
  • Involvement in BAS and other tax requirements.
  • Liaising with third party stakeholders where required.

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Financial Controller or Senior Accountant at a large property.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to train and develop team members.
  • Ability to effectively time manage large volume work load, to meet deadlines and work well under pressure situations.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Authentic customer service, interpersonal & communication skills & be flexible in your approach to resolve issues.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable, however not essential).
  • Unlimited work rights in Australia. The Resort is unable to offer Sponsorship for this position.
