Job Description

Scope

Provide professional, engaging, and friendly guest service while delivering food and beverage orders and/or amenities to guest rooms. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Have complete knowledge of In-Room Dining menu and ensure awareness of all menu specials, shortages, or item specifics on a per shift basis 
  • Receive orders via telephone, correctly enter items into MICROS system, set food service cart appropriately, and deliver food and beverages directly to guests' rooms 
  • Communicate with guests the applicable service charges and acceptable payment methods
  • Supervise In-Room Dining team and perform operational duties during Manager’s and Supervisors’ absence
  • Develop, train, and coach team members to required standards
  • Address guest comments or concerns when the Supervisor is not present
  • Plan and assign team duties on a daily basis, monitoring employee labour
  • Keep track of weekly orders for In-Room Dining
  • Assist in fulfilling special needs or guest requests for In-Room Dining and for Coffee Shop when necessary
  • Participate in monthly inventory for In-Room Dining
  • Assist in creating new training plans for In-Room Dining staff
  • Complete monthly Health & Safety inspection

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Alberta ProServe Certification
  • Basic knowledge of wines and spirits
  • Customer service oriented
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position
  • Able to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable handling cash
