Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents.
  • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
  • Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
  • Create and update vendors in CORA and Birchstreet as necessary
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Maintain Communication boards with up to date and relevant information for Colleagues.
  • Operate a variety of Windows based computer programs to ensure the success of the department including Excel, Watson, Opera, fusebox, Royal Service, Outlook, Dayforce, CORA Birchstreet.
  • Prepare Daily Audit Packet for review by the DOF/ADOF. Included in this packet are all of the daily audit reports (i.e Journal by Cashier and Transaction Code Report) from the POS and Auto Cashier Machine.
  • Daily over/short audit reports provided to Accounting comparing Opera transactions to Auto Cashier Machine.
  • Maintaining current user listing and access to the Auto Cashier Machine by adding and removing users as necessary. Assigning designated bank amounts as approved by DOF/ADOF
  • Weekly cleaning of Auto Cashier Machine
  • Monthly cash audit of Auto Cashier Machine
  • Replenishing Auto Cashier Machine with cash and coin as necessary dependent on levels set by DOF/ADOF
  • Assisting Accounts Receivable, Group Billing, and Payroll on various duties as necessary depending on business needs and requirements.
  • Hourly Rate: $35.00 USD gross per hour

Your skills and experience include:

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Completely fluent English language skills; both written and verbal
  • A high level of responsibility and commitment
  • A clear, precise, polite and helpful telephone manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Team player with proven success in relationship building
  • Commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
  • A minimum of two years combined experience in Accounting and/or Front
  • Office in a hotel of comparable size and level of guest service
  • Proficiency of Property Manager, MS Word, Excel and Outlook required
