Job Description

The Director, Sustainability is a key position that leads the organizations CSR and environmental programs and initiatives.  The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the environmental stewardship programs for Raffles & Orient Express. They will participate and take a leading role in each property’s sustainability strategies; manage the processes, reporting and guidance of corporate led initiatives through the organization.

The Director will support the Senior Vice President in leading the development and execution of Accor’s ESG Pillar (Environmental, Social, Governance) / CSR’s company-wide strategic sustainability initiatives globally, integrating this throughout the company, ensuring the efforts enhance business performance and supports the long-term interests of the company.  As part of the operations and sustainable teams, the Sustainable Director will provide support on internal and corporate initiatives, a coordination role between the properties, trains and ships of the two brands and the corporate office.

RESPONSIBLITLIES

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the Accor’s goals and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure sustainability goals are met.
  • Conduct regular sustainability audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  •  Provide training and guidance to staff on sustainable practices.
  • To answer to all CSR queries and channel all enquiries to relevant parties
  • Prepare all reports on Raffles & Orient Express performance as it pertains to CSR.
  • Work with existing and new hotels, trains and ships to ensure participation in existing brand let initiatives and goal setting.
  • Seek ways of effectively reaching relevant internal stakeholders with understandable key messages of the group and individual brand

  • Develop Sustainability Plans and objectives and collaborate with corporate to action and build sustainability principles into short and long-range business planning, capital planning and operations planning.
  • Prioritize & Drive Action Plans
  • Guide and train CSR Champions, GMs and representatives on the ESG Pillars and Measure Progress 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, sustainability, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the hotel industry, sustainability, and other relevant experiences
  • Possess a passion for teaching and coaching in new initiatives and ideas around this subject.
  • Commitment to promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Service oriented with an eye for detail.
  • Good team working skills and able to work effectively and contribute in a team.
  • Good presentation and influencing skills; should be able to persuade colleagues to get on board with CSR initiatives.
  • Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse cultures.
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond to change effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and has good initiative under dynamic environments.
  • Self-motivated and energetic.
