Job Description

  • Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, including furniture, cabinets, doors, and windows.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials according to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and design plans to determine project requirements.
  • Inspect and assess damaged or deteriorating wooden structures, and implement appropriate repairs.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, sanders, and planes, safely and effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the carpentry workshop and work areas.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role, preferably in a hospitality or construction setting.
  • Proficiency in woodworking techniques, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and design plans accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools used in carpentry.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions for extended periods.
