Your Role: Cultivating Food & Beverage Excellence
Exceptional service and cuisine are hallmarks of the Toro Chicago, by Richard Sandoval, dining experience. As a bar porter, you will take pride in the integral role you play in supporting your Food & Beverage Colleagues and “setting the stage” for a truly memorable dining experience.
Your Responsibilities:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Assist beverage team in preparation, maintaining and restocking bar area and equipment
- Control the beverage stock as per guidelines
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions specifically sugar cane spirits
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
- Follow brand policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Follow hotel time and attendance policy
- Follow grooming and attire guidelines
- Must be available to work flexible shifts including AM, PM, evenings and weekends
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous Food & Beverage experience an asset, but not required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
