Company Description

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre. With over 370 rooms, a refreshing pool, a vibrant Lagoon for water activities, mouth-watering dining options, and a modern 1500-person convention centre, our coastal resort is a landmark for excitement. As part of the esteemed Accor Group, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of service for our guests.

In this key role, you’ll assist the Financial Controller in overseeing the daily operations of the Finance department, focusing on accounts payable, receivables, and payroll. Collaborating closely with Department Managers, you will incorporate their insights into annual budgets and monthly forecasts. You’ll also prepare comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders, directly influencing our financial performance.


Job Description

As Assistant Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to enhance our financial systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with Accor’s policies and internal controls. You will oversee cash flow management, credit approvals, and timely reporting, all while engaging with department heads to drive profitability. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing measures to streamline operations and recover outstanding debts efficiently.

You’ll also play a vital part in nurturing talent within our Finance team. By assisting in recruitment, training, and performance management, you’ll help develop a skilled workforce and foster an environment of growth and engagement. Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting
  • A minimum of 3 years’ previous leadership experience in a similar position within a large organisation
  • Have a strong analytical mind and finance acumen to monitor, manage and control costs
  • Experience with Payroll PAYG, GST, payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, BAS preparation Accounts Payable, and Superannuation
  • Proficient in accounting software; experience with TimeTarget, WageEASY, PurchasePlus, and Sun would be beneficial (but not required)
