Job Description

To ensure payments are made in a timely and accurate manner according to approved policies & procedures; all relevant records are completed and accurately posted accurately; accurate aging of all accounts which are reconciled to the General Ledger control account.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure invoices are correctly coded and posted into system
  • Ensure invoices are adequately and accurately attached with relevant documents such as PO/PR, AFE, BEO etc
  • Ensure invoices without relevant supporting documents are approved by respective Department Heads or Division Heads
  • Ensure journal entries interfaced from Cost Control/Receiving Office are correct
  • Ensure all payment requisitions are approved by relevant authority i.e. respective HODs, FC and/or GM
  • Ensure all manual cheques are posted into the system
  • Plan electronic payment are made according to approved policies & procedures
  • Ensure all expenses for the month are posted and necessary accruals made
  • Ensure AP aging tally with GL
  • Update creditors’ reconciliation to ensure our records tally with creditor’s statement
  • Supervision and responsibility for Accounts Payable Officer

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Accounting
  • Minimum of 2- 3 years experience in accounting with at least 1 year in AP in a Hotel
