Job Description

As Bar Supervisor, you will report to the Venue Manager & Bar Manager, leading, mentoring, and motivating a dynamic team to deliver exceptional service. You’ll assist with the day-to-day operations at Hyde Hacienda. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Duties

  • Ensure efficient, friendly, and professional beverage service for all guests.
  • Build rapport with VIP and regular guests to ensure their needs are met consistently.
  • Implement systems to protect and manage bar service equipment, record breakages, and conduct regular stock takes.
  • Prepare beverages according to standard recipes and maintain beverage costs as outlined in the budget.
  • Develop and maintain a weekly cleaning schedule to uphold the highest hygiene standards in the bar area.
  • Ensure all mise en place is completed before guest arrival and that team members are knowledgeable about the beverage and wine lists.
  • Drive sales by promoting current offerings and ensuring guests are provided with accurate billing.
  • Maintain back-of-house and cellar areas to a high standard, ensuring correct stock rotation and storage methods.
  • Operate within liquor licensing guidelines and adhere to the hotel’s House Management Policies.
  • Stay current with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and ensure your team follows RSA principles.
  • Assist with roster preparation, ensuring cost-effective staffing levels are maintained and approved by department heads.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • A true “people person” with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of current food and wine trends, with a passion for the hospitality industry.
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings.
  • A leadership mindset, with the ability to motivate your team and take ownership of the role.
