The Assistant Banquet Manager at Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha is responsible for coordinating and managing corporate events, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, incentive groups, and social functions. The role supports the MICE Sales and Events teams in delivering exceptional guest experiences, maximizing event revenue, and ensuring seamless coordination between clients and hotel departments in line with the luxury standards of both brands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operational planning and execution of meetings, conferences, exhibitions, incentive groups, and corporate events
• Coordinate with Banquets, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, and AV/IT teams to ensure seamless event delivery
• Prepare and review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), function sheets, event schedules, and operational checklists
• Conduct pre-event briefings and communicate client requirements, event timelines, and service expectations to all relevant departments
• Supervise event setup, room layouts, audiovisual requirements, signage, and overall venue readiness
• Monitor event operations to ensure adherence to established service standards and client specifications
• Conduct regular inspections of meeting rooms, conference facilities, and event spaces to ensure readiness and presentation
• Manage last-minute changes, operational challenges, and special requests efficiently
• Ensure smooth coordination of group arrivals, accommodation requirements, meeting schedules, and transportation arrangements
• Monitor food and beverage service delivery, banquet operations, and event flow throughout each function
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and security procedures during events
• Handle client concerns and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain guest satisfaction
• Monitor event resources, equipment availability, staffing levels, and operational efficiency
• Supervise and support event team members, ensuring clear task allocation and consistent service delivery
• Conduct post-event reviews, gather client feedback, and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Maintain accurate event documentation, operational reports, and departmental records
• Ensure all events reflect the luxury service standards and brand expectations of Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha

What will you bring to this role?

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MICE operations, banquet operations, conference services, or event management within a luxury hotel environment
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in meetings and events operations
• Strong knowledge of event planning, banquet operations, function room setups, and audiovisual requirements
• Experience coordinating with multiple hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution
• Proficiency in hotel management and event systems, such as Opera, Delphi, or equivalent platforms
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop team members
• Excellent guest relations skills and a commitment to luxury service standards
• Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to handle last-minute operational changes
• Good knowledge of health, safety, hygiene, and hotel operational procedures
• Fluency in English and Arabic languages
