Job Description

Job Overview:

As a Sous Chef at Masala Library, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences inspired by Indian cuisine. You will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety while leading a talented team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in the overall kitchen management and daily operations.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and seasonal menus that reflect the essence of Indian cuisine.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and quality control.
  • Monitor food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in managing kitchen costs and minimizing waste.
  • Engage with guests to gather feedback and enhance their dining experience.
  • Stay current with culinary trends and techniques, implementing them as appropriate.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fine dining kitchen, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creativity and passion for culinary arts.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
