Company Description

The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Floor Manager (m/f/d)

2023 sees The Hoxton take on Europe! We’re popping up in some of our favorite cities and we’ve opened our first hotel in Germany in the city of culture and creativity, Berlin. We are now looking for an experienced Floor Manager to join our team.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

Reporting to our Restaurant General Manager, you will be responsible to support the seamless running of our restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective service, ensuring standards are maintained, guest needs are anticipated as well as a good handle on the figures. Along with the Restaurant Manager you will lead our talented team, motivating and developing them to be the best they can be.

More about us...

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

  • Support and coordinate the reservations system with the Hosts team.
  • Draft Floor plan based on covers.
  • Support the Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager with Food & Beverage stock; ordering, stock counts.
  • Ensure memorable guest experiences by engaging with customers, dealing with complaints, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for both our guests and staff.
  • Support to the floor team and training of staff, including performance reviews.
  • Cash handling and daily reporting of revenues as per hotel SOP’s.
  • Responsible for the service on the floor.
  • Responsible for the safe opening and closing of the restaurant.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Strong previous work experience as Floor manager or Supervisor in a busy and high-volume restaurant.
  • You are aware of local employment law and health and safety regulations.
  • Fluent in English, good German knowledge, additional languages will be highly valuable.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • A people person, great at building and nurturing long lasting relationships.
  • You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits here.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get stuff done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
