Job Description

Are you a seasoned leader in the world of culinary arts and hospitality? Do you have a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences? Fairmont Olympic Hotel is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Food & Beverage to elevate our renowned culinary offerings to new heights.

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:             

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans, promotions and concepts to enhance the overall food and beverage operations, aligning with the hotel's objectives while creating our F&B offerings to be a destination of choice to both hotel and external local guest. 
  • Lead F&B Outlets: Lead and drive our 6 unique F&B Outlets and exceptional Banquet Department to continue to deliver extraordinary service and always strive for unparalleled guest experience and excellence. 
  • Culinary Excellence: Collaborate in the creation and implementation of innovative menus and seasonal menus, ensuring exceptional quality, unique offerings and guest satisfaction.
  • Financial Management: Manage the budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets. Ensure effective control of food, beverage, labour and operating expenses. 
  • Team Development: Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Guest Relations: Build and maintain strong guest relationships, ensuring an outstanding dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Must hold valid authorization to work in the USA.
  • Food Handers Card and MAST permit required.
  • Previous Food & Beverage experience in a senior leadership role required.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline required.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
