Job Description

Guest Reception and Access Management

  • Monitors and controls access to the hotel premises, including verifying identification and issuing credentials to visitors and external suppliers.

  • Provides support to colleagues across the hotel, especially during high-traffic or busy periods, as long as it does not interfere with primary duties.

  • Manages the distribution and custody of staff and master keys, maintaining a strict record of all movements.

  • Controls barriers and access points to the hotel, including employee entrances, parking areas, and the loading dock.

  • Frequently remains present in high-traffic areas such as the lobby, restaurant outlets, and hotel entrances to assist with guest flow, provide directions, and support operational teams.

  • Conducts parking area inspections, keeping a daily record of vehicles on property and coordinating with the front office to identify any irregularities.

  • Identifies and reports maintenance issues or damages observed during the shift.

Incident Prevention, Evacuation and Emergency Situations

  • Responsible for monitoring the fire alarm control panel, reporting alarms and coordinating with relevant departments.

  • Has detailed knowledge of the fire panel system, alarm types, and affected zones, enabling appropriate response actions.

  • Is fully familiar with the Hotel Emergency and Self-Protection Plan and all emergency response protocols.

  • Understands roles, procedures, and the reporting chain for different incidents and emergency situations.

  • Forms part of the first response team together with the maintenance department, responding promptly to alarms and emergencies and coordinating with evacuation and intervention leaders when required.

  • Regularly checks emergency exits and evacuation routes to ensure they are unobstructed and in proper condition.

  • Trained in the use of firefighting equipment in all its forms.

  • Knowledgeable about ACCOR’s ALERT program and its emergency prevention modules.

  • Understands the reporting procedures for health and safety incidents within the hotel.

  • Investigates, documents, and reports any health and safety risks, such as blocked emergency exits or faulty firefighting equipment.

  • Assists in checking first aid kits and medical emergency supplies, reporting any replenishment needs to the T&C Department.

  • Acts as the first responder for first aid situations involving guests, visitors, or employees.

  • Trained in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) available in the hotel.

  • Coordinates situations requiring medical emergency services, such as ambulances, in collaboration with the manager on duty or the hotel’s senior manager.

  • Assists the maintenance department with lock control and programming within the hotel when required.

Training, Development and Administration

  • Assists in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Plays a key role in evacuation training, emergency management, and response protocols.

  • Maintains continuous training in all areas related to their role, according to scheduled programs.

  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure a safe environment for all stakeholders.

  • Prepares and maintains records, reports, and documentation related to prevention activities.

  • Participates in ongoing health and safety training and stays updated on relevant prevention protocols and technologies.

  • Assists the Director of Rooms and the P&C Department in providing health and safety training to hotel staff.


Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, perform regular patrols, and respond quickly to emergency situations.

  • Ability to use different types of fire-extinguishing equipment, especially fire extinguishers.

Required Education and Experience

  • Compulsory secondary education.

  • Previous experience in similar positions is essential, and experience in hotel environments is highly valued.
