Seasonal Pool Concierge

You represent Fairmont Century Plaza with enthusiasm and pride, providing exceptional service and attention for each guest you encounter. You are energetic and confident, and will encourage your teammates to achieve and be positive while being entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the best possible experience for your guests at all times in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner.

As a Seasonal Pool Concierge, you will be greeting, escorting, assisting guest at the pool, accommodating them with towels and lounge chairs while maintaining a friendly, courteous and efficient operation. To prepare beverages for guests following recipes and guidelines for preparation, presentation and accountability in a cost efficient manner. To ensure compliance with all liquor laws in the preparation, serving and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the pool.

What you will be doing:

• You consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• To uphold the Fairmont Century Plaza values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities.
• To adhere to company policy and procedures, as stated in the company handbook.
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Interact with arriving and departing guests while exceeding guest expectations
• Working liquor, beer, wine and cocktail knowledge
• Prepare beverages following Accor and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts recipes and guidelines for preparation.
• Greeting guests, escorting them to the lounge chairs, while assisting them throughout their time at the pool.
• Preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails while taking, and delivering food and drinks orders.
• Oversee the cleanliness and the daily upkeep of the pool area while maintaining cleanliness and organization of bar prep area and bar
• Control bar costs, and waste while complying with liquor laws
• Maintain accountability, both personal and financial
• Close out paper work thoroughly
• Maintain extensive knowledge of menu, food preparation techniques
• Be pro-active by assisting co-workers, and managers
• Be familiar with all food outlets and amenities within the property and proficient with all aspects and services of the property
• Be knowledgeable of general city information as well as hotel history, and
• Personal and financial accountability
• Be an ambassador for the department, the property and the brand
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Previous luxury hotel/resort experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Spirits, Cocktails, Wine and Beer
• Previous customer service experience required
• Previous food and beverage and/or barista experience preferred
• Previous point of sale system experience preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable who can work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a small team and independently
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience preparing cocktails or serving in a luxury environment is preferred
• Must have previous experience tending bar in a high volume environment
• High school diploma or equivalent

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Fluent spoken and written English
• Multi-lingual skills are beneficial

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic math

• Must be able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to management, fellow employees and guests
