Job Description

ABOUT ORIENT EXPRESS 

Artisan of travel since 1883, Orient Express sublimates the art of travel with its luxury trains, hotels, and sailing yachts. The brand has just launched its first hotel, Orient Express La Minerva, in Rome – which will be followed by Orient Express Venezia at Palazzo Donà Giovannelli in 2026. The experience continues with the recent launch of La Dolce Vita Orient Express train, followed by Orient Express Corinthian in 2026, the first of two Orient Express Sailing Yachts, and finally, the return of L’Orient Express train to railways. Since 2022, Orient Express is part of Accor Group’s leading collection of luxury brands with a century-old legacy in the hotels and fine- dining sectors. In 2024, Accor and LVMH entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of Orient Express.  

Job Purpose

As a Personal Travel Consultant, you will be a key member of our Orient Express Team, in charge of creating memorable experiences with our guests, answering emails and inbound calls and offering guests your knowledgeable recommendations as you reserve their cabins and suites across our various Orient Express products, namely Sailing Yachts, the La Dolce Vita train, our prestigious hotels and the New Orient Express train which will be announced soon.

Main Duties

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Orient Express brand, acting as a trusted ambassador to inspire confidence and excitement in potential clients while gaining and maintaining loyalty.
  • Proactively manage and follow up on leads whether low or high potential sales prospects via phone, email, and other communication channels to achieve and exceed sales targets with opportunity to achieve sales incentives.
  • Close sales effectively by leveraging expert knowledge of luxury services, including train, yacht and hotel reservations, while delivering a seamless and personalized booking experience and maximizing revenue through upselling and cross selling.
  • Cater to an Ultra High-Net-Worth (UHNW) clientele, maintaining the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Anticipate and exceed guest expectations, demonstrating keen intuition and a commitment to providing bespoke proposals and solutions that elevate the client experience.

  • Continuous adhering to GDPR and PCI principles
  • Being a curious and enthusiastic learner and keeping oneself up to date with the worldwide trends in the luxury travel industry
  • Living the Heartist® culture and values and contributing to the success and growth of the Luxury Reservation Centre in Barcelona
  • Following ACCOR´s Sustainability Policies and Corporate Ethics and other internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Exemplary level efficiency in English and French required, written and spoken.  Italian is an asset.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality whether train, yacht or hotel operations, travel agency or customer care required
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills along with effective sales processes such as discovery and presenting questioning techniques
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in a fast-paced environment, work independently and collaborate within a global team
  • Highly motivated and results oriented individual
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Central Reservation Systems is an asset
  • Schedule will vary and successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends
  • Attention to details and well organized

Location and Availability Requirements:  

  • Must be currently legally entitled to work Full Time in Spain 
  • We offer rotating schedules
  • 2 consecutive days off (two weekends off per month guaranteed)
  • Current opening hours: Mon-Sun 8am to 10pm
