Laundry Technician

Swissotel Al Ghurair & Swissotel Living Al Ghurair Hotel is a 620-room-and-suite upper upscale property. Catering for both business and leisure clientele. The hotel is located in Deira in the heart of Dubai and within easy reach of major tourist landmarks, leisure destinations and city services. It is linked to the Al Ghurair Shopping Centre, only 3 stops away on the Dubai Metro from the Dubai World Trade Centre and a 10-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

As a Laundry Technician, you will be responsible for all general repair and maintenance in laundry plumbing and electrical system of the Hotel.

What you will be doing:

• Ensure that all laundry equipment’s are properly maintained and service to upkeep all equipment and to avoid breakdown
• Maintain all kinds of laundry equipment and ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes
• Perform preventive maintenance and completes the turn-over quickly and efficiently in order to keep a good flow of the operations
• Maintain security measures by counting and making rounds through the laundry on a periodic basis
• Respond to breakdowns of equipment’s and being available in case of emergency and applying the appropriate action as per Hotel policy and standards
• Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
• Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in position is a strong asset
• Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
• Mechanical & Technical certification is preferred
• Strong problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa requirements:

Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Dubai. Swissotel Al Ghurair & Swissotel Living Al Ghurair will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from place of origin.
