Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Laundry Manager and in accordance with established Rixos Hotel Policies and Procedures, the Laundry Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Laundry Department. The role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, cost control, and linen care while fostering a positive, safe, and professional working environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Laundry Operations

  • Supervise daily laundry operations to ensure compliance with hotel standards, procedures, and service quality.
  • Monitor outsourced laundry services to ensure quality, timelines, and contractual standards are met.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of all laundry equipment.
  • Oversee correct usage, storage, and cost-effective control of laundry chemicals in line with environmental and safety procedures.
  • Maintain linen, uniform, and laundry par stock levels to support smooth hotel operations.
  • Ensure consistent linen flow to guestrooms, outlets, and back-of-house areas.

Quality & Standards Control

  • Inspect linen and uniforms for cleanliness, damage, and defects; recommend repair or replacement when required.
  • Ensure laundry staff have full knowledge of textile types and proper handling procedures.
  • Maintain uncompromising levels of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all laundry areas.
  • Ensure proper handling of lost and found items related to laundry operations.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of chemical consumption per wash cycle and prepare monthly productivity reports.
  • Participate in monthly inventories and follow up on daily operational checklists.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible documentation and operational files.
  • Assist in administrative tasks and operational monitoring as assigned.

People Management & Training

  • Supervise, motivate, and support laundry team members to achieve high performance and morale.
  • Conduct daily briefings to communicate tasks, priorities, and operational updates.
  • Assist in interviewing and onboarding new laundry team members in coordination with the People & Culture Department.
  • Ensure training programs and refresher courses are conducted and attended as scheduled.
  • Develop action plans to enhance team performance, engagement, and retention.

Guest Service & Interdepartmental Coordination

  • Handle guest complaints professionally, taking ownership and ensuring resolution to guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, F&B, Front Office, and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Act as an ambassador of the Laundry Department and the hotel at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with hotel policies, local legislation, fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and eliminate fire, safety, and operational hazards in all laundry areas.
  • Ensure proper discard procedures are followed for linen, involving all relevant stakeholders.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Report for duty punctually in the correct uniform and name tag, maintaining high standards of personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across all departments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to carry out other reasonable duties within job capability or redeployment as required by business needs.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Laundry operations within a 4–5 star hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong knowledge of laundry processes, textile care, chemicals, and equipment.
