Job Description

In order to exceed visitors’ expectations, the Hotel Grounds team takes enormous pride in the high attention to detail they give to the property’s safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. As our guests arrive, the exterior property is their first impression for their luxury stay.

Starting Rate: $23.41 per hour

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $27.28

Job Duties Include:  

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service
  • Ensure the hotel property is clean, safe, and free of rubbish at all times
  • Daily planning, assigning, and follow up of colleague tasks
  • Planning and execution of seasonal projects and programs such as holiday decorations, gardening/plant health maintenance, season changeover, snow removal, ice rink creation, turf maintenance, irrigation, sodding, tree removal, etc.
  • Training colleagues on tools, equipment, and procedures
  • Mentoring, coaching, and performance management of colleagues
  • Enhance property through various projects
  • Labor intensive work in the form of shoveling, chipping, digging, lifting, carrying, etc. with a strong attention to detail
  • Operation of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract in good standing
  • Must have previous landscaping and snow removal experience
  • Must have experience operating large vehicles, skid steer, and machinery
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset
  • Constant standing, walking, and bending throughout 8hr shift
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 lbs., sometimes up and down stairs
  • Comfortable working on ladders while holding/lifting items
  • Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
