We are looking for a Host Manager to join the Mondrian team.


Job Description

The Host Manager plays a pivotal role in curating an exceptional guest experience across multiple dining venues. This position ensures seamless management of guest reservations, welcomes and seats guests with grace, and upholds the highest standards of personalised service. Main duties include:

Reservation Management 

  • Handle all reservation requests via phone, email, and online platforms.  
  • Manage booking systems to ensure accurate and efficient reservation handling.  
  • Coordinate with venue managers to optimize table allocation and seating arrangements.  
  • Confirm reservations and send reminders to guests as needed.  

Guest Relations 

  • Exceed guest’s expectation by delivering personalised and professional service to clients and guests.    
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries and feedback.  
  • Create and execute a Guest Recognition program that aims to build strong, lasting relationships with key customers, increase their satisfaction, and drive repeat business through a combination of recognition, rewards, and exceptional service.  

Leadership and People Development 

  • Recruit, train, and lead the host team members and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.  
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge in event planning and execution.  
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to the team, promoting professional growth and a high standard of performance.  
  • Assist with training new staff on reservation and guest relations procedures.    
  • Organise the host team roster, roles & responsibilities of each team member.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Host Management experience in a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment 
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.  
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a passion for developing and motivating staff.   
  • A Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is essential. 
  • Queensland RMLV and First Aid Certification are highly desirable. 
  • Experience with POS and Reservations systems such as SevenRooms and Micros Symphony is highly advantageous. 
  • Able to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays. 
  • Must have valid Australian Working Rights.
