Job Description

Sofitel New York is seeking a creative, proactive ‘go-getter’ Group Sales Manager to promote and sell the services of our luxury four-star hotel to maximize room and banquet revenue through phone solicitation, in-person meetings, participation at trade shows and other sales actions. You’ll serve as the hotel representative to prospective clients and customers who utilize rooms, meeting space, food & beverage service, and our in house audio visual. Qualifies and responds to sales inquiries in a timely manner and develops new business opportunities by researching prospects utilizing sales tools such as Delphi, reader board services, Cvent and more.

What you will be doing:

As the Group Sales Manager, you will plan and conduct creative site visits, proposals, and sales plans to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. You will work with other departments to ensure requested services are provided to clients and guests, and assist Director of Sales and Marketing with development of annual budget and marketing plan.

Uncover new business and cultivating target accounts will be essential to the success of this position. Active community outreach and industry involvement highly encouraged.

Work with Director of Sales and Marketing, and other members of team, to ensure adequate coverage of the Sales Department, field unsolicited leads as allocated, and coordinate all details of bookings. Effectively manage relationships with accounts and Global Sales Partners and ensure all information/history in Delphi is current and accurate, and to ensure overall goals are achieved.


Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Self-starter, who maintains a high level of professionalism in appearance and manner at all times. Ability to effectively present data, be decisive and meet deadlines as required. Exceptional negotiation and closing skills are essential to the success of this position. Proven organization and analytical skills for internal and external client, and vendor communication.

Ability to conduct professional verbal and written presentations to both large and small groups. Be a team player at all times. 

Experience with Delphi FDC and Cvent required. Powerpoint, Excel, and Opera highly desirable.

Skilled and comfortable in prospecting through LinkedIn Navigator and related platforms desirable.

Ability to communicate in French desirable.

Minimum one-year sales experience in upscale, luxury hotel.

  • This position is Not Remote. 
  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents. 
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
