Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and visionary Financial Controller to join our organization in Lucknow, India. In this pivotal role, you will lead the finance function and drive financial excellence across the organization. You'll combine strong technical expertise with strategic thinking to ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and sustainable business growth. Working collaboratively with senior leadership and department heads, you'll transform financial data into actionable insights that shape organizational strategy and performance.

  • Lead and manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections; conduct variance analysis and provide strategic recommendations
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports; communicate complex financial information clearly to senior management and stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and compliance frameworks aligned with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage cash flow optimization, credit approvals, debt recovery, and working capital strategies
  • Lead the finance team; provide mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to drive team excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs
  • Partner with business leaders to analyze profitability drivers, manage expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Oversee financial systems and accounting software; ensure data integrity and system optimization
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit standards
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making at the executive level

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in senior finance roles, with at least 2 years in a Financial Controller or equivalent leadership position
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance (PAYG, GST, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, BAS), and statutory requirements
  • Proven experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and financial consolidation
  • Demonstrated proficiency with accounting systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software; experience with Opera Cloud, Zambion Ready Workforce, Purchase Plus, or similar platforms is advantageous
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to diverse audiences
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands effectively
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial matters
  • Strategic mindset with commercial acumen and the ability to drive process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Experience with internal controls, risk management, and audit coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparency and compliance
