Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our integrated sales and marketing operations in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In this pivotal role, you will drive revenue growth and brand expansion, build and mentor high-performing sales and marketing teams, and establish strategic partnerships that position our organization for sustainable success. As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, achieving ambitious revenue targets, enhancing brand positioning, and fostering a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional results.

  • Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets, identify new business opportunities, expand the customer base, and strengthen brand presence while monitoring market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional sales and marketing teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment that encourages innovation, professional growth, and accountability across both departments
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and marketing partners, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction at all touchpoints throughout the sales and marketing lifecycle
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline development, marketing campaign performance, and resource allocation to optimize team performance and maximize revenue generation and brand awareness
  • Implement and oversee CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and analytics tools to track customer interactions, measure sales and marketing performance, and generate data-driven insights for continuous improvement
  • Set clear objectives and performance metrics for both sales and marketing teams, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Develop and oversee marketing campaigns, brand positioning strategies, and promotional initiatives that support sales objectives and enhance market visibility
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to refine sales and marketing approaches and enhance business outcomes
  • Prepare detailed reports on sales and marketing performance, including key metrics, financial analysis, and campaign effectiveness, and present findings and recommendations to senior management

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality Management, or related field; Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or Marketing preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in sales leadership or sales management roles within the luxury hospitality sector, with a demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets at upscale properties; proven success in driving revenue growth within luxury hotel, resort, or high-end service environments
  • Luxury Hospitality Expertise: Deep understanding of the luxury hospitality market, including premium guest expectations, luxury brand positioning, and high-end service delivery standards; experience managing sales and marketing for luxury properties with strong brand equity and premium market positioning
  • *Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire cross-functional sales and marketing teams in luxury environments; experience managing P&L responsibilities and building high-performing organizations that deliver exceptional results and maintain luxury brand standards
  • Sales Expertise: Strong proficiency in luxury market segmentation, premium pricing strategies, sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sophisticated negotiation techniques; demonstrated success in identifying and cultivating high-value business opportunities, including corporate partnerships, destination weddings, and luxury event bookings
  • Luxury Client Relationship Management: Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with affluent clientele, luxury travel partners, corporate executives, and key stakeholders; expertise in delivering personalized, white-glove service and cultivating long-term loyalty among high-net-worth individuals and premium corporate accounts
  • Brand Positioning and Marketing: Demonstrated expertise in luxury brand development, premium positioning strategies, and sophisticated marketing campaigns that resonate with discerning audiences; experience leveraging luxury brand partnerships, exclusive collaborations, and high-end promotional initiatives
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in luxury hospitality CRM systems, revenue management software, analytics platforms, and digital sales tools; ability to leverage data and technology to optimize sales performance, enhance guest engagement, and maximize revenue per available room (RevPAR)
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, using luxury market analysis, competitive intelligence, and destination trends to inform decision-making and drive sustainable growth in premium markets
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with refined interpersonal skills; adept at engaging with luxury clientele, building relationships across all organizational levels, and representing the property with sophistication and professionalism
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex hospitality data, identify market trends, and make informed business decisions that enhance profitability and brand prestige
  • Destination Knowledge: Familiarity with Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya, and the luxury Caribbean destination market is highly advantageous; understanding of destination trends, competitive landscape, and luxury traveler preferences in this region
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Flexible mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic luxury hospitality environments, adapt to evolving market conditions and guest preferences, and overcome challenges with a positive, solution-oriented approach
