Job Description

This position will form a part of our United States based Sales Team and will report to the Director of Sales as well as the Director of Sales & Marketing who is based in Bermuda.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Meet and exceed personal sales room night booking goals: monthly, quarterly and yearly
  • Exceed monthly goals in each of the following categories:  site inspections, personal sales calls, entertainment and prospecting
  • Actively target and solicit new business within the territory assigned utilizing programs such as LinkedIn Navigator and other social media platforms
  • Utilize Opera sales system in compliance with Accor brand standards
  • Develop key and developmental accounts for hotels that will generate long term business partnerships
  • Stay familiar and relevant with industry trends  
  • Able to think strategically and maximize our group potential over required periods to include use of meeting space for meetings and events. Arrival and departure patterns that fit with the hotel business needs
  • Following up on leads in a timely and professional manner within the respective territory
  • Fully qualifying each piece of business to understand the full potential of the   booking
  • Learning the strengths and weaknesses of our top competitors so as to be able to sell against them
  • Attending all required meetings. Participating in on going brainstorming Sessions
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all  supporting departments
  • Coordinating with conventions services on groups involving rooms and banquet revenue
  • Adhering to all Accor sales standards
  • Participate in Accor territory sales events and trade shows, involves preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of event
  • Maintaining positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues and Global Sales Offices while portraying a professional image at all times
  • Overnight travel which may include weekends to conduct ongoing sales calls to clients in your territory
  • Manage and share one coordinator with other Sales Managers
  • Participate in hotel committees
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Director of Sales

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Business Management, Sales and/or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Must be a results-oriented, highly motivated individual, with a positive attitude
  • At least five years hotel group sales management experience, is required, preferably in a luxury Hotel environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team in a multi cultural, diverse environment
  • Proven ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Ability to act independently and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as a team while at the same time negotiate and effectively communicate within a remote office environment
  • Ability to make effective presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Computer literacy including, but not limited to, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point essential.  Property Manager experience preferred
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours
