Are you a Night Owl? We are looking for an ambassador for Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour as Relief Night Manager / Night Auditor. The ambassador should an eye for detail, a passion for creating magnifique luxury experience for our guests and developing a wonderful team.


Job Description

Our Ambassador will:

  • Be carrying our Night Manager responsibilities in absence of the Night Manager
  • Actively participate in weekly Front Office meetings, where possible, respecting the confidentiality of issues, which may be discussed formally or informally.
  • Effective supervision of late guest arrivals and early departures ensuring that room allocations and check in/check out processes follow set procedures and are customer focused.
  • Totally conversant PMS and balance procedures.
  • Compile Night Audit day pack reports and documents in accordance with PCI Compliance, distributing to specific departments in a timely manner as required.
  • Complete thorough audits of all daily revenue and postings, making the necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Collate paperwork for departures, including credit card and company charges to be forwarded to Accounts department.
  • Programme wake up calls ensuring these are received. Order newspapers as necessary and deliver to rooms.
  • Be aware of room availability and sensitively manage overbooking situations where late night relocation is required.
  • Ensure that reservations details for in house-guests are recorded correctly, ie. room rates, dates of stay, authority to charge.
  • Complete relevant computer tasks in relation to Night Audit functions, including posting room charges and daily room revenue.
  • Assist in the preparation of Front Office monthly reports, commenting on key performance indicators.
  • Ensure public areas are clean and well presented with regular monitoring.
  • Effective liaison with the Reservations office to ensure accuracy in room allocation and maximising of yield.

Qualifications

  • Valid Full New Zealand Drivers Licence with a clean driving history
  • Valid LCQ/Managers Licence is a bonus
  • PMS - Opera or Opera Cloud a bonus
  • At least 1 year in a leadership role a bonus in specifically Night Manager experience within the hotel industry
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and organisation skills
  • Ability to work in the fast paced environment and be proactive
  • Previous hotel or administration experience
  • Positive bubbly personality
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.
