Job Description

Job title: Laundry Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping, Laundry

Inspired & supported by: Executive Housekeeper

 

Your purpose will be:

Responsible for the general work load in the laundry, including all paper work. Duties must be carried out effectively efficiently. You will be part of a team processing the hotel bedding, linen and other listed items to the highest possible standard and will report to the Housekeeping Manager.

 

You will be accountable for:

  • To assist in compiling the rotas for laundry and ensuring that staffing levels are kept in line with business levels on a weekly basis.
  • To be responsible for the efficient control of stocks and assisting with linen control.
  • To assist the Housekeeping Managers with any staff training/personnel/development issues.
  • Purchasing orders.
  • Creating rota for the laundry team
  • Check work you are processing for cleanliness, making sure it is dry and always give the processed work a cooling off period before you pass it for us.
  • Provide a friendly and efficient service through effective recruitment, induction, training and development policies, as measured by low turnover, high guest satisfaction.
  • Manage and control staffing levels and par stocks to budget and in line with departmental SOP’s.
  • Ensure colleagues are trained to deliver a superior cleaning service in the laundry to standards as outlined in SOP’s.
  • Liase with the Director of Engineering and Security regarding health and safety issues and capital projects to ensure optimum room availability and minimal inconvenience to guests.
  • Operate an effective inter departmental communication process in order to co-ordinate and respond to guest needs through their stay.

 


Qualifications

What you will need to do this role:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a Hotel or leisure-related environment
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • The ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to multitask as necessary to meet deadlines and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • You are a natural at leading and managing a team.
  • You are a born optimist, who always put our guests, colleagues, and communities first.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
