Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The position is part-time and approximately 2-3 days per week or 4 hours per day.

  • Responsible for preparing, verifying and processing invoices by cross-checking all postings in master account to back-up and client instructions
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful and high-pressure situations
  • Works with the Assistant Controller in reconciling tax exemptions
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

We are looking for a well-organized and creative candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to inspire “quality in life” and work in a dynamic environment. In addition, the candidate should possess:

  • High school diploma required and college coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively deal with team members and customers, some of who will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations in an effective manner
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and to assume the role of a solution-oriented mediator
  • Presents a professional and polished appearance.
  • PC experience (MS Word, Excel). 
  • Ten key adding machine & basic office equipment (fax machines, copier, printers etc.).
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead by example.
  • Must understand the flow of data though the accounting cycle.

Physical Aspects of Position: 
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Frequent sitting throughout shift
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
