We are seeking a talented and innovative Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and service excellence.
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu items
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth service delivery
- Participate in menu planning and pricing strategies
- Maintain quality control for all food items leaving the kitchen
- Assist in creating and implementing kitchen standards and procedures
- Handle guest inquiries and special requests professionally
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
- Culinary Diploma or equivalent qualification in culinary arts
- Minimum 4 years of progressive management experience in a luxury hotel kitchen or similar high-end establishment
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Extensive knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques
- Proficiency in menu planning, cost control, and inventory management
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using computer systems including Microsoft Office suite
- Current food safety and sanitation certification
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Passion for culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
