Job Description

Perfect for students just starting out or those looking for internships!

We are looking for a part-time intern to join our team who is passionate about learning human resources in hospitality! As part of the Talent and Culture (T&C) department at Manly Pacific, you will gain invaluable first-hand experience in all things human resources, and take a peak behind the curtain of what it takes to run a 5 star luxury hotel. This predominantly administrative role will focus on recruitment and assisting the T&C team, but will also include tasks such as: 

  • Maintain a logical and up-to-date filing system.
  • Conduct process of recruiting and screening systems and procedures in order to attract most qualified candidates for position vacancies.
  • Conduct initial screening interviews for operational positions, undertake telephone reference checks and place job advertisements.
  • Ensure Department Heads and Supervisors are able to use appropriate selection techniques.
  • Prepare and administer the application of applicants.
  • Prepare and arrange necessary department documents.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the department through adequate supply of materials and equipment.
  • Assist with regular inspections of locker room, canteen, and team facilities which are provided for team welfare and benefit.
  • Assist and follow up with team member enquires, assist where possible or arrange for response to be provided in a timely manner.
  • Provide entry card and locker keys for each new team member.
  • Assist with the set-up and orientation of new starters.
  • Responsible for the grooming and general aspect of team members, in particular with regard to uniforms.
  • Assist with departmental videography and social media.
  • Regularly create and ensure information is posted on Hotel bulletin board and kept up to date.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Talent and Culture Manager or Talent and Culture Executive.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Canva, Mentimeter and Flipsnack preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIGA, NES and Fair Work Australia.
  • Exceptional articulation and English communication skills.
  • Sense of creativity and enthusiasm for human resources.
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail.
