Job Description

This position is responsible for the maintenance of all linen, uniforms and fabrics used in the hotel by guests and staff according to the Hotel’s standards. 

  • Operate the hotel tailoring of all uniforms, hotel linen, curtain, carpets, upholstery, cushion and guest laundry an efficient and organised manner. 

  • At all times, keeping updated on product knowledge of hotel and related activities. 

  • Resolving guest complaints to the guest’s satisfaction within your level of authority. 

  • Maintaining excellent grooming and hygiene ensuring all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation. 

  • Abiding by the guidelines set out in the Heartiest Handbook. 

  • Carrying out all tasks in line with hotel procedures and standards and product specifications. 

  • Stitching (where applicable) of linen for all guest rooms and departments such as Restaurant, Gymnasium etc. 

  • Collection of Tone linen uniform housekeeping and other departments. 

  • Maintaining records of all stitching uniform, linen etc.  

  • Maintaining par levels of all stocks, conducting stock takes and submitting requests for purchase of additional supplies. 

  • Minor repairs to linen and uniforms are required. 

  • Random check of linen and uniform is of consistent quality and meets hotel standard and Guest expectation 

  • Operation of equipment including sewing machine and ironer in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations and hotel procedures. 

  • Prompt reporting of maintenance requirements for tailor room and follow up with Maintenance Department to ensure these are actioned. 

  • Ensuring the daily maintenance of all equipment, such as clearing of sewing machine switching off machines when not in use.  

  • Issue and recording of connector’s uniform and linen. 

  • Ensuring the tailor room and adjacent storerooms remain tidy and organized at all times. 

  • Ensure tailor room and uniform inventoried are maintain at all time. 

  • Be punctual, efficient and courteous at all times with guest and fellow heartiest alike 

  • Maintaining excellent grooming and hygiene ensuring all grooming standards are met in relation to personal grooming and uniform presentation. 


Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Diploma or equivalent qualifications 

  • Minimum of 2 years of similar experience

  • Written and verbal communication skills in English 

  • Service oriented with an eye for details 

  • Able to develop rapport with colleagues and management staff 

  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team 

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
