Job Description

Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing key business accounts, generating new business opportunities, and maximizing room, banquet, and ancillary revenues for Fairmont Mumbai & Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel. The role will focus on strengthening market presence, building strategic client relationships, and achieving assigned revenue targets while maintaining the luxury and lifestyle positioning of both brands.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve budgeted revenue goals.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure new business opportunities within assigned market segments.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, presentations, and networking activities.
  • Generate revenue across guestrooms, meetings, events, food & beverage, and other hotel services.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure timely conversion of leads into confirmed business.
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and agreements in accordance with hotel guidelines.

Account Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts through regular engagement and relationship building.
  • Conduct account reviews and identify opportunities to increase market share and revenue contribution.
  • Ensure timely responses to client inquiries, proposals, and requests.
  • Maintain accurate client records and account plans within designated sales systems.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and recommend strategies to enhance hotel positioning.
  • Provide regular market intelligence and account feedback to the Director of Sales.
  • Support the development of annual sales and marketing plans.

Revenue & Performance Management

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Contribute to hotel forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning processes.
  • Track sales performance through reports and analytics.
  • Ensure all business opportunities are properly documented and followed through to conversion.

Client Engagement & Brand Representation

  • Represent Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn at industry events, trade exhibitions, networking functions, and client engagements.
  • Organize and conduct hotel site inspections and familiarization visits.
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences and maintain long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for both hotels, promoting their unique luxury and lifestyle offerings.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, Reservations, Events, and Operations teams to maximize business opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth handover of confirmed business to operational teams.
  • Support cross-selling initiatives between Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn.
  • Participate actively in sales meetings, training programs, and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of sales experience within luxury hotels, upscale hospitality brands, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of the Mumbai hospitality market and business landscape.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and developing successful client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales management systems.
