RESERVATIONS AGENT (PART TIME) | MERCURE GOLD COAST RESORT

A 292-room hotel, spanning over 3.5 hectares with significant food & beverage operations, two resort pools and extensive conference facilities, Mercure Gold Coast Resort is an oasis located amongst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast.

We have the opportunity for a proactive and dynamic Reservations Agent to join our experienced Reservations team as our business grows. This is a Part Time opportunity.


Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Establish a strong working relationship with our guests and clients.
  • Accurately process both FIT and group bookings, including availability requests, confirmations, payment schedules, within the required timeframes.
  • Establishing strong relationships and accuracy in addressing guest needs/requirements
  • Monitor and report on market trends to assist the Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue team.
  • Produce reports and statistics as requested, including business turnaways and group forecasts.
  • Assist with the management of payments, cancellations, rooming lists, and terms and conditions.
  • In collaboration with the Reservations Supervisor, allocate hotel inventory with a special attention paid to group reservations.

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Desire to learn, develop and innovate in whatever you do.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organised, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A passion for guest engagement, combined with a strong sales approach and passion for driving and generating business.
  • Previous experience in Opera PMS preferred. 
  • Flexibility to working days/hours to suit business needs, including weekends.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to ‘think on your feet’.
  • Previous experience with Group Reservations highly regarded.
