Job Description

  • Manage and ensure the efficient operation of the Purchasing and Storeroom Department in all aspects.
  • Regularly review all purchase contracts and bid proposals from vendors to ensure competitive pricing for all operating areas of the hotel and compliance with budget limitations.
  • Negotiate prices, place daily orders based on requirements, and ensure prompt delivery as requested.
  • Ensure that Purchase Orders are properly completed and in accordance with policies before purchases are made.
  • Monitor vendors for quality, service, and price through standard purchasing specifications.
  • Cooperate with all departments to ensure that product specifications are consistent and accurate.
  • Ensure that sufficient operating supplies are in stock, and coordinate orders with each department.
  • Maintain an up-to-date summary of current prices on food, beverages, and inventory stock.
  • Research new products and services for the hotel.
  • Assist with Operating Capital Expenditures.
  • Support the company in implementing and developing sustainable hospitality practices in the purchasing area.
  • Interact professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Follow purchasing policies and procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
  • Develop a working knowledge of all internal procedures and governmental regulations in the area of purchasing.

Qualifications

  • Previous management experience in Hotel Purchasing is preferred.
  • Strong administrative, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to changes with flexibility, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills; excels in a fast-paced, challenging, and team-oriented environment.
  • Solid knowledge of purchasing procedures.
