Job Description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Pastry Chef to join our culinary team in Visakhapatnam, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for creating delectable desserts, pastries, and baked goods that delight our customers and elevate our dining experience.

  • Design and implement creative dessert menus, including seasonal specials and signature items
  • Prepare a wide range of high-quality pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items
  • Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs for the pastry department
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing ones
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff members
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into dessert creations
  • Accommodate special dietary requests and allergen concerns in pastry offerings
  • Participate in menu planning and costing activities
  • Assist in the preparation of desserts for special events and catering functions

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma in Pastry Arts
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen
  • Advanced skills in pastry techniques, chocolate work, sugar art, and baking
  • Proven ability to develop innovative menus and create visually stunning desserts
  • Strong knowledge of food cost control, budgeting, and inventory management
  • Proficiency in culinary software and modern kitchen equipment
  • In-depth understanding of food safety standards and current ServSafe certification
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions, allergen management, and alternative baking methods
  • Creativity and meticulous attention to detail in dessert presentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a passion for culinary excellence
