Overnight Maintenance Worker

Starting Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

The Overnight Maintenance Worker works an 11:00 pm to 7:00 am shift, supporting the Engineering team in maintaining the overall appearance and internal workings of the Hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing daily hotel rounds to check light bulbs and parking garage
• Completing general maintenance and repair work in all areas of the Hotel including kitchens, restaurants and lounges, spa and fitness area, public washrooms, and back of house areas
• Completing assigned special maintenance projects
• Cleaning pool and whirlpool filters, backwash, and tiles and checking chemical levels 
• Assisting in maintaining the physical appearance of the Hotel grounds including collecting garbage, sanding icy areas, chipping ice, plowing and shoveling snow etc.
• Attending to scheduled room checks and room calls, noting condition of rooms and required repairs
• Assisting with other maintenance tasks as assigned

• Minimum two years of work experience in a building maintenance role
• Some post-secondary education and training in electrical or plumbing field
• Demonstrates a mechanical aptitude
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with limited supervision
• Able to work independently and to problem-solve responsibly
