Job Description

In a safe and efficient manner provide maintenance services to our internal and external guests and operate the building environmental system. This candidate will be able to communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues, respond to requests in a timely manner, and assist in achieving the Departmental and Hotel goals.

Starting Rate: $36.12 per hour 

Compensation will increase every year on September 1st. As of September 1, 2025, the rate of pay for this position will be $37.02.

Job Duties Include:

  • Monitor, maintain, and repair mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration, while ensuring timely completion of work orders.
  • Conduct regular facility rounds and preventive maintenance tasks in compliance with safety, health, and departmental standards.
  • Support emergency response efforts and remain available for flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and on-call situations.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and assist other trades as needed to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Demonstrate professional, accountable, and guest-focused service while adhering to hotel policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4th Class Power Engineer certification (mandatory)
  • Must have Canadian Class 5 driver’s license and driver’s abstract in good standing
  • Proficient in energy management and building automation systems
  • Skilled in building management functions, including trade-specific tasks, code compliance, and operational efficiency improvements
  • Computer literacy related to technical and facility management software
  • Strong manual dexterity and physical capability to lift up to 25 kg
  • Ability to manage multiple technical tasks independently and under tight deadlines
