Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician Skill II the work you do to care for our home away from home will be felt by our guests and colleagues.  You will be an ambassador for our brand by taking care of the little things and the big things: ensuring guests' requests are being handled to their expectations, completing projects, performing preventative maintenance and responding to repair requests in a timely manner.

Hourly Rate: $37.25

What you will be doing:

  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment
  • Update records of repairs and tasks performed
  • Perform maintenance requests as assigned
  • Inspect and provide preventive maintenance 
  • Update records of repairs and tasks performed
  • Inventory and requisition supplies and parts as needed
  • Change A/C filters and clean fan coil units as directed
  • Perform troubleshooting on HVAC/Refrigeration equipment
  • Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities
  • Ensure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of our resort exceeds expectations
  • Organize time so all side work is completed according to shift demand
  • Promote and enforce health and safety awareness as well as to have a complete understanding of the emergency procedures
  • Follow hotel and departmental policies, procedures and service standards
  • Contribute to the improvement of the operation by contributing ideas, making suggestions and actively participate in departmental communication meetings

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • One year previous experience in HVAC/Refrigeration required
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and electronics is preferred
  • Three years experience years hands-on experience working in various engineering skill sets required
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must be able to work in wet conditions in pools/ponds
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally
  • Highly responsible & reliable

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training

Licenses or Certificates:

  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Trade certification or license is preferred
