Job Description

  1. To attend all laundry and dry-cleaning operations, following the hotel standards and procedures.
  2. To follow the linen and uniforms laundry flows and to respect the established cycles and instructions.
  3. To have a full knowledge of all the textiles and their proper care.
  4. To use all the machines and equipment with proper knowledge, care and maintenance.
  5. To handle and store chemicals with proper care, and to use correct formulas, following all healthy and safety regulations.
  6. To immediately report to superior any damage or malfunctioning in the laundry equipment or operations, including linen and uniforms status.
  7. To maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the working area and stores.
  8. To ensure proper handling of lost and found items.
  9. To participate in monthly inventories.
  10. To follow up daily check lists.
  11. To respect the telephone etiquette as per Rixos standards.
  12. To report any guest comment or complaint.
  13. To respect schedules, terms and deadlines as agreed with the Management.
  14. To read and complete the laundry Logbooks and reports

Other Duties

  1. To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department appearance standards.
  2. To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
  3. To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments.
  4. To ensure you read the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  5. To comply with local legislation as required.
  6. To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
  7. To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  8. To attend training and meetings as and when required

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Laundry Operational Standards, Policy & Procedure Adherence

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Diploma or degree in vocational hospitality, 1– 3 years experience in 4-5  star hotel
