Job Description

We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic Hostess to join our hospitality team in Cairo, Egypt. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized dining experience. Working collaboratively with our restaurant management and service staff, you will ensure seamless front-of-house operations while maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction and service excellence. This position is ideal for a customer-focused individual with exceptional communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding hospitality.

  • Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and personalized attention, setting a positive tone for their dining experience
  • Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow to optimize table turnover while maintaining service quality
  • Coordinate closely with the restaurant management, service staff, and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during all service periods
  • Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and ensure they feel comfortable and well-attended from arrival to departure
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and preferences with discretion, efficiency, and empathy
  • Maintain accurate and organized reservation records, updating guest information in the booking system with attention to detail
  • Monitor waiting times during peak service hours and communicate clearly with guests regarding estimated seating times
  • Provide personalized service for VIP guests and special occasions, ensuring memorable experiences
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the restaurant entrance and reception areas
  • Listen actively to guest feedback, comments, and concerns, escalating issues to management when necessary
  • Uphold all hotel and restaurant service standards, grooming guidelines, and brand values
  • Support the wider food and beverage team in achieving operational excellence and guest satisfaction goals
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing priorities and high-volume service periods

Qualifications

  • Excellent level of English
  • Previous experience as a hostess or in a front-of-house role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality establishment is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage warmly with diverse guests
  • Strong passion for customer service and the hospitality industry
  • Professional appearance, confident demeanor, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to remain calm, organized, and courteous in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with reservation systems; experience with booking software is an advantage
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural work environment
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs
  • Demonstrated empathy and emotional intelligence when interacting with guests and colleagues
  • Legal right to work in Egypt
  • Knowledge of Egyptian hospitality standards and cultural awareness is beneficial
