Job Description

As a Group Reservations Agent at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, you’ll play a key role in driving hotel performance and shaping the guest experience from the first interaction. Specialising in group reservations, you’ll ensure bookings are handled with care, professionalism, and a focus on revenue.

You’ll coordinate reservations for large parties – such as corporate groups, tour operators, and event organisers – ensuring room blocks are accurately allocated and managed. You’ll also handle enquiries and support sales-related tasks to deliver smooth, seamless group experiences.

With strong communication skills, a sales mindset, and a guest-first approach, you’ll help optimise occupancy and create memorable stays for all guests.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Drive revenue through effective upselling and cross-selling
  • Manage group and individual reservations with accuracy and care
  • Allocate and monitor room blocks for large group bookings
  • Respond to phone and email enquiries with efficiency and warmth
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and timely resolution
  • Monitor room availability, rates, and promotions to maximise bookings
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth group arrivals
  • Contribute to a culture of high-quality, service-focused interactions

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a proactive and guest-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional service. Your strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently will be key to ensuring every guest interaction exceeds expectations.

  • Proven experience in a Front Office or Reservations role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Opera Cloud is highly advantageous
  • Strong service orientation with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays
