Be Part of History – Lead the First International Hotel in Khiva

Are you ready to pioneer a flagship project in one of Central Asia’s most culturally rich and visually stunning destinations? Mercure Hotels is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our property in the historic city of Khiva, Uzbekistan.  Set in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Khiva, this project is more than a hotel – it’s a defining milestone for the tourism landscape of Uzbekistan.

As the General Manager of Mercure Khiva, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving business growth in this unique cultural destination.

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to all departments, ensuring the hotel meets and exceeds Mercure brand standards
  • Develop and implement business strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including guests, employees, local authorities, and community partners
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations and Accor Group policies
  • Drive marketing and sales initiatives to promote the hotel and increase occupancy rates
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with corporate offices to align hotel operations with broader company objectives
  • Represent the hotel at industry events and in the local community to enhance its reputation and visibility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or relevant hospitality certifications (e.g., CHA) preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in hotel management, including prior experience as a General Manager or in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in pre-opening projects and working in developing or emerging hospitality markets
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic planning and decision-making abilities, with a focus on long-term business growth
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and systems
  • Fluency in English required, knowledge of Uzbek or Russian highly advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry and current market trends
  • Ability to quickly understand, analyze, and adapt to the dynamics of the Uzbek culture and local tourism market
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence
