Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of People & Culture to join the team at SLS Barcelona.

  • Responsible for leading short- and long-term strategy planning and execution of the People & Culture function for the hotel.
  • Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: recruitment, hiring, training, benefits, employee relations, learning & development and payroll.
  • You’ll develop, implement, and manage the nuts and bolts of the department, our policies, processes, and procedures.
  • You'll get involved and lead projects. We want to hear your ideas and get your input.
  • Recommend the department’s budget and manage expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Work closely with General Manager in implementing, achieving and maintaining the property goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that the hotel operates within the employment law requirements in its locality.
  • Act as an advisor to all managers on all aspects of employment and support team relations and performance management.
  • You’ll lead our efforts in embedding SLS values and culture as well as Ennismore values and culture into your team

Qualifications

What we are looking for...

  • At least four years’ experience as a director in a human resources capacity; hospitality is a plus and food & beverage experience is even better.
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems and make effective decisions.
  • A quick learner, with a growth mindset and are up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • A great communicator – both verbally and written – and a great listener.
  • You execute. You get things done. You are scarily organized.
  • You know how to hold people accountable – but make people feel good at the same time.
  • You love people and want to scout, hire and train the best team out there.
  • You can keep a secret. You exercise discretion when handling team issues.
  • You are humble & kind; you think big and encourage your team to believe.
