Job Description

Job Summary

The Assistant Sales Manager supports the sales team in achieving revenue goals by managing client relationships, executing sales strategies, and assisting in business development efforts. This role ensures seamless coordination between departments and contributes to increasing occupancy, revenue, and brand awareness. A strong focus is placed on MICE and Leisure Group sales, ensuring the hotel captures a significant share of these high-value segments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Generation

• Drive sales for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and Leisure Groups, ensuring optimal revenue contribution.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key MICE and leisure travel agencies, corporate event planners, and DMCs (Destination Management Companies).

• Conduct sales calls, property tours, and presentations to potential clients.

• Work with the Revenue Management team to develop competitive pricing strategies for group bookings.

2. Client Relationship Management

• Act as a key point of contact for MICE organizers, leisure group operators, and travel agencies.

• Follow up on leads, negotiate contracts, and ensure seamless execution of events and group stays.

• Maintain accurate client records and sales activities in the CRM system.

3. Reporting & Analysis

• Assist in preparing sales reports, forecasts, and revenue analysis with a focus on MICE and group segments.

• Track performance of group bookings and MICE events to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to recommend strategic adjustments.

4. Coordination & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Events, F&B, and Front Office teams to ensure smooth execution of group bookings and MICE events.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for MICE and leisure group segments.

• Ensure alignment between sales efforts and hotel operational capabilities.

5. Team Support & Training

• Assist in mentoring junior sales team members.

• Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of MICE and group sales best practices.

• Support the Director of Sales and Marketing in achieving departmental objectives.

6. General Duties

• Attend meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required.

• Maintain professional grooming standards and uphold the hotel’s brand values.

• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

 


Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in hospitality sales, with a focus on MICE and leisure groups.

• Strong track record in developing and managing key accounts within these segments.

• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language

• Strong MICE & Group Sales Expertise – Proven ability to attract and convert MICE and leisure group business.

• Sales & Negotiation Skills – Experience in handling complex contracts and negotiations for large-scale bookings.

• Market & Competitor Analysis – Ability to analyze data and adapt sales strategies accordingly.

• Technical Proficiency – Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera, and CRM systems.

• Communication & Relationship Management – Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain long-term partnerships.
