Job Description

At Fairmont Banff Springs, our financial operations support the exceptional experiences we create for our guests every day. We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Accounts Receivable Generalist to join our Finance team in a dynamic resort environment.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the resort’s client billing, accounts receivable management, and financial reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for excellence in hospitality finance.  

Competitive Salary: $60,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education

Job Duties Include:  

Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Credit Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional, engaging, and attentive service while responding promptly to guest and client billing inquiries, both written and verbal.

  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices for Wedding, Catering, and Group accounts, ensuring billing procedures and documentation are properly maintained.

  • Manage the full accounts receivable cycle including posting and applying payments, administering group deposits, tracking advance deposits, and following up on outstanding balances.

  • Maintain accurate financial records by coding transactions to the general ledger, completing daily reconciliations, and coordinating documentation submission to the Centralized Accounting Service Delivery Team.

  • Support the Finance team with operational accounting functions including accounts payable, income audit, inventory cost control, banking, cash management, month-end closing procedures, and special projects.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  Previous experience in accounts receivable or hospitality finance preferred
  • Familiarity with hotel systems such as Opera Cloud PMS, Silverware POS, or Micros POS considered an asset
  • Exposure to financial systems such as Birchstreet procurement or SUN accounting software is advantageous
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical, administrative, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and commitment to financial accuracy
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours when operational needs require
