Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for the position of VP PR & Communications, Middle East Asia and Pacific, MEA APAC – Premium, Midscale and Economy to join our team. Based in Dubai and reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, MEA APAC this key role is responsible to develop and execute the group’s Strategic Communications Plans for the and oversee internal, external and crisis communications for the group to position and protect the reputation of Accor and its brands. The position liaises directly with the Global Communication teams and manages Communications teams across the region, which spans 40 countries and 1000+ hotels. The role is responsible for managing communications on behalf of the CEO and CCO, including speeches, annual reports, LinkedIn posts and media interviews as required. The position plays a key role in positioning Accor as an employer of choice and in creating positive news about the organisation as well as protecting the reputation of the organisation in times of crisis.

Getting to know the role and your responsibilities:

 Strategic Communications

  • Lead development and execution of MEA APAC communications strategy.
  • Set team KPI’s.
  • Steerco leadership with Global team.

External & Internal Communications

  • Preparation and distribution of press releases and announcements
  • Communicating to the public, media, key stakeholders and partners through social media platforms, newsletters, presentations, seminars
  • Overseeing the quality of printed and online communications including annual report, owners reports, marketing collaterals and more
  • Producing internal communications across a range of platforms and outlets
  • Managing the distribution of internal news across the organisation

Media Relations

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key media, strategic associations across MEA APAC (traditional, online)
  • Execution of brand campaigns to achieve media and influencer coverage.

Crisis Management

  • Developing and updating media crisis statements and plans
  • Maintaining and protecting the group’s reputation
  • Providing crisis management training to executives and GMs and representing the company during times of crisis as a spokesperson/adviser
  • Lead the governance of corporate crisis management for MEA APAC

Influencers Strategy & Brands Ambassadors

  • Manage LinkedIn profiles of CEO & CCO
  • Developing a strategy of Mega influencers (personalities/celebrities etc.) which are hosted per destination, brands, or hotels with the main aim to reach a large number of audiences to promote a hotel, brand or offer.
  • Ensure the messaging, profile alignment with the brand is correct.
  • Requests are managed reactively for the region and also profiles are reached out to proactively through agencies or direct contact.

   


    Qualifications

    What we need from you

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Master’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or relevant fields
    • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Communications preferably in Hospitality/Travel
    • International experience of working in MEA APAC desirable
    • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and ability to liaise with senior leaders.
    • Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.
    • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs of the organization.
    • Multicultural sensitivity and ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
