Job Description

Our newly renovated Guide's Pantry outlet provides prompt, professional and efficient service, offering fresh daily baked goods, gourmet sandwiches, salads, hot food, soups, decadent desserts and a range of hot and cold beverages. The one outlet at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise that never sleeps… The Guides operates 24hrs 365 days of the year with a primarily “to go” service. Boasting the title of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s busiest outlet, the Guide’s Pantry serves over 200,000 guests yearly.

What you will be doing:  

  • You will be working overnight to help the outlet achieve 24-hour coverage
  • Greet all guests in-person or by phone
  • All areas of guest service and core standards, including the creation of new ideas to assist with the continued development of Chateau Lake Louise’s image as a leader in F&B service and a F&B destination
  • Ensuring that the Deli maintains a first class and positive visual impact, including ambiance, cleanliness, orderliness, decor and service flows.
  • To set a positive example for Food & Beverage employees through exemplary dress, grooming and self-discipline in addition to monitoring staff performance in these areas.
  • To ensure that guest comments and complaints are thoroughly investigated and corrective actions are taken in order to prevent repetition of the complaint. 
  • Ensure that daily management and guests billing reports comply with company procedures and departmental guidelines.
  • To be involved in departmental payroll and schedule process
  • Take guest orders and prepare them to guest specifications
  • Provide a consistently high standard of service
  • Effectively handle customer concerns and exceed customer expectations
  • Inform guests of hotel and area information as requested
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and ordering in Micros POS system
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked with products
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and  initiatives
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of two years of Food and Beverage experience, in a fast-paced environment. Post Secondary Degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management is an asset
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills are required.
  • Displays high initiative and requires minimal supervision and direction.
  • Experience with handling cash
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
  • Self‑motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
  • Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • Ability to consistently stand and walk throughout shift
