Company Description

The Hoxton, Charlottenburg (Berlin) – Working Student (Werkstudent) People & Culture (m/f/d)

We are now looking for a Working Student (Werkstudent) People & Culture to join our team in The Hoxton Charlottenburg.

Our first Hoxton in Germany is home to 234 bedrooms of varying sizes, a ground floor restaurant and bar, coffee bar and streetside terrace and The Apartment – our unique meetings and events concept.

Reporting to our People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the daily people operations.

More about us...

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Support the team with day-to-day People & Culture operations – from answering team questions to keeping our admin organized.
  • Get hands-on with recruitment: posting jobs, pre-screening CVs and scheduling interviews.
  • Help us shine in trainings and events – prepping materials, setting up spaces, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Jump in on event logistics: from team drinks to bigger hotel-wide happenings, you’ll be there to help pull it all together.
  • Onboarding heroes: prep welcome packs, organize first-day plans and make sure every new starter feels like part of the family from day one.
  • Boost team spirit: support engagement surveys, gather feedback, and help roll out cultural and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Keep our teams in the loop with internal comms – drafting posts and updates for our notice boards, newsletters or team chats.
  • Bring your creative side: design in Canva, make decks in PowerPoint, and keep our spreadsheets in shape.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • You’re currently enrolled at a university (Bachelor’s or Master’s), ideally in Hospitality, HR, Business, or something similar.
  • Fluent in German and English is favourable – any other language a nice addition.
  • A real people person – approachable, positive, and up for helping out.
  • Organised and ready to juggle a few things at once (with a smile).
  • Comfortable with PowerPoint, Excel and Canva, and happy to learn new tools.
  • Curious about hospitality and HR, and excited to get some real experience along the way.
  • Individuals. You’re looking for a place where you can be you.

Additional Information

What's in it for you...

  • Become part of a team that’s passionate about creating great hospitality experiences – for our guests and our people.
  • Flexible hours to fit around your studies (up to 20h/week).
  • Proper hands-on experience in People & Culture – not just admin, you’ll get to try lots of different things.
  • Food on us during your shift – we support you finding a fueling lunch with Pluxee Benefits Card and food vouchers.
  • A free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two when you start.
  • Team perks: Hox discounts, volunteering days, fun get-togethers and our (pretty special) parties.
  • Get in touch with experts from OpenUp to balance work and life or any other mental-wellbeing related topic.
  • Enjoy lots of Discounts through our Corporate Benefits Discount webpage.
  • Learn and grow with our Ennismore Learning platform and its +6.000 training opportunities
