Job Description

Job Overview
As a Receptionist at Swissotel Wellness Resort Alatau Almaty, you will be responsible for delivering a warm, efficient, and professional service to all guests. You will handle check-in and check-out procedures, manage guest accounts, provide accurate information, and ensure smooth communication between guests and hotel departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Handle check-in, check-out, room allocation, and payment procedures accurately and efficiently.

  • Manage reservations in Opera system, ensuring accuracy of guest details, billing, and special requests.

  • Ensure all reservations are guaranteed with valid payment methods (credit card, cash, or company guarantee).

  • Process guest charges, post payments, and maintain accuracy of guest accounts.

  • Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly, avoiding shortages or discrepancies.

  • Monitor guest credit limits and inform management of any exceptions.

  • Assist with night audit procedures in the absence of the Night Auditor.

  • Provide information about hotel services, promotions, and local attractions; actively upsell rooms and services.

  • Handle guest requests such as wake-up calls, transportation arrangements, and VIP services.

  • Manage and resolve guest complaints in a courteous and effective manner, escalating issues when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate records of shift activities and prepare daily reports.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel standards, credit policy, and safety procedures.

  • Keep the reception and lobby area clean, organized, and welcoming.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and other hotel departments.


Qualifications

  • Higher education (hospitality or related field preferred).

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a front office or guest service role, preferably in a 4-5* hotel.

  • Knowledge of Opera PMS, Fidelio, and MS Office (Excel in particular).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good command of English (oral and written); additional languages are an advantage.

  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures, telephone etiquette, and hospitality standards.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy in handling financial transactions, and customer-oriented attitude.
