Maintenance Technician

Novotel Sydney Darling Square is seeking a practical and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team on a Part-Time basis. This role is ideal for someone experienced in a similar position who can confidently turn their hand to a wide range of maintenance tasks. You will support the day-to-day operation of the hotel by responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring our guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces remain safe, functional, and well-presented.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotel
• Complete daily plant rounds and identify any equipment that appears faulty or requires repair
• Carry out maintenance on equipment and water reticulation systems to ensure reliability and operational efficiency
• Ensure all tools and equipment are used, maintained, and stored correctly
• Liaise with relevant departments regarding works in guest rooms and public areas, ensuring out-of-order spaces are returned to service promptly
• Accurately record all maintenance tasks (completed and outstanding), including repairs and preventative maintenance schedules

Successful candidates will:

• Previous experience in a similar role/hotel environment and a qualification in trade is preferred
• Be self-motivated and able to work well unsupervised
• Be able to prioritise tasks and follow specified procedures
• Have the ability to work a variety of shifts across the week
• Experience in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools
